How To Succeed at University report

The UK Higher Education Academy just published our second report in the series How to Succeed at University in GEES Disciplines: Enhancing Student’s Information Literacy Skills. (GEES is Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences.) I wrote this with coauthor Rich Waller at Keele University. Contents include finding and assessing scientific literature, critical reading, citing sources and avoiding plagiarism, and how to write a first-class essay. This report is the basis for the lectures I deliver in the first-year first-semester tutorials in our School.

This follows up from our first report How to Succeed at University in GEES Disciplines: Using Online Data for Independent Research.

Both reports are written for either student or instructor use. I hope you find them useful.
